Begin the modification by redefining the meaning of a modified diet. Determine if a food which has not been modified and is prepared for taste and not as an intervention for disease is suitable for the diets you are modifying. For example, in the regular diet, is regular oatmeal appropriate for a patient with hypertension, a patient with type 2 diabetes, a patient with renal disease, a patient with heart disease and a patient with cancer? If you deem it is appropriate, type in the modified food at the corresponding space, if you deem it is not, make an appropriate substitution for each patient and write it in at the appropriate space.
