Social Psychology

Bogardus, E. S. (1950). The sociology of Charles A. Ellwood. Sociology & Social Research, 34, 365373.

The author addresses the attempts of integrating society with sociology as advocated by Ellwood. In this book, he provides a structure that can be adopted to improve the world through believing of faith and promoting the act of faith among generation. Just like other philosophers, the book concurs with Dewey as well as Mead that people are always the same in their behavior, so people’s faith is determined by their action (Bogardus, 1950, p.14). Through Ellwood’s philosophy, the world tends to see the sociological import of the words of Jesus as well as the way he motivated other early sociologists to use the concept he brought forward on advocating for a better world together with a complete sociology.

In this article, the author is concerned about the scientific quality of social as well as personality psychology.  The author describes the impact of research practices that are unknown as well as the outcome of the findings through various research practices (Asendorpf, Conner, De Fruyt, De Houwer, Denissen, Fiedler,… Wicherts, 2013, p 10).  Notably, he also emphasizes how these researchers have an impact on the different research that was conducted at different times but has a replication in their documentation with more of the replication being seen in the earlier researches.  The author also gives an impression that the field of research about sociology is evolving day by day since new approaches are being replicated to find quality in the research work

Bobo, L., & Kleugel, J. R. (1991). Modern American prejudice: Stereotypes, Social Distance and Perceptions of Discrimination Toward Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians. Paper Presented at the Annual Meeting of the American Sociological Association, Cincinnati, Ohio.

The articles tend to argue on how effective racism in social psychology needs to be taken seriously among those who have experienced race relationship. Also, the author focuses on empirical of social life in which the concept of practice is structured around race. Besides that, he uses case studies to give full disclosures of various sociological psychologies in different aspects of races. He also intends to provide the two practices that constitute the act of racism in sociological psychological (Bobo & Kleugel, 1991, p. 19).  It shall assist in developing new ideas on the discipline race relationship.

Summation

These three articles are of major interest for my study on sociological psychology as they assist in identifying the approaches to be undertaken to further the study through advancing into new techniques that can make the work innovative. It also provides a maxim that describes the behavior of people in various circumstances through advocating for the philosophy that is advanced by the earlier philosopher in work. They also provide a solution to the method of data collection as well as the shortcoming that should be the focus on when conducting the research so as to have an improvement on earlier researches that have already been done by the earlier researcher. They give a prior definition of the concept that is under study by looking into what others have done about the concept being developed.
